Nordic Walking
The form of recreation consisting in marching with special sticks invented in Finland in 1920s as the all seasoned training for cross-country skiers.
In comparison to the traditional march, nordic walking involves the use of force to the poles on both sides, therefore, those training nordic walking engage the muscles of the whole body to a larger extent, but less intensively. Muscles of thorax, arms, stomach, triceps and biceps are differently stimulated then during the traditional march, and as a result they are more stimulated than in ordinary walking or jogging.
Major advantages of nordic walking:
- develops the strength and endurance of arms,
- enhances climbing,
- burns more calories than ordinary walking,
- increases body stability and posture,
- reduces the pressure on tibial bones, knees, hips and back; advantageous for persons of weaker joints and muscles,
- lightens joints – beneficial for elders.
The main advantage is that everyone can train nordic walking regardless age, condition or weigh. Nordic walking is perfect at the seaside, in forests, parks or in the mountains – all year long. It is recommended to start the adventure with nordic walking with a professional couch that will teach you the proper techniques of marching and help to choose the most suitable sticks.
Although Nordic walking in Łeba is a real challenge, it is an excellent way to spend your leisure time together with exploration of the tourist tracks .
